Responsibilities
- Develop and update comprehensive curriculum content aligned with current pharmacy practice standards and accreditation requirements
- Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions on topics such as medical terminology, clinical pharmacy, pain management, and compounding medications
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and track progress
- Conduct laboratory sessions focusing on pharmacy software, compounding techniques, patient assessment, and laboratory safety procedures
- Provide mentorship and support to students during their pharmacy technician training, including clinical rotations and residency programs
- Assess student performance through exams, practical evaluations, and project work; provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Stay current with industry trends by participating in research activities related to pharmacy education and practice
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pharmacy technician roles, including clinical pharmacy experience and pharmacy residency programs
- Strong background in higher education teaching, adult education principles, and classroom experience
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, learning technology, and research methodologies in healthcare education
- Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacy software systems, acute pain management, and patient assessment techniques
- Hands-on laboratory experience in compounding medications and laboratory safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly and effectively
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field; additional certifications in pharmacy or education are a plus
