Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Drafter and Estimator to join our growing engineering organization. This role is designed as the cornerstone of a future multi-person CAD and estimating team that will support project needs across multiple offices. The position begins with hands-on drafting and estimating responsibilities in the low-voltage security systems field and will evolve into a leadership role as the team scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise AutoCAD drawings including floor plans, device layouts, riser diagrams, and as-built documentation
- Develop cost estimates and project takeoffs using Excel and estimating tools
- Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure project alignment
- Maintain accurate drawing revisions and documentation throughout project lifecycles
- Contribute to the development and standardization of CAD and estimating workflows as the organization grows
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; proficiency in Word and Outlook
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems such as access control or security camera systems
- Experience with scheduling or project planning tools
- Educational or technical background in drafting, design, or electrical systems
Position Details
- Full-time, on-site role based in Eatontown, New Jersey
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Hands-on role with structured mentorship, progressing into a team leadership position based on performance
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
