- Assists Physical Facilities Director (e.g. in planning and organizing the work for maintenance personnel, etc.) for the purpose of for ensuring that projects are completed in a timely manner and within specifications.
- Communicates with administrators, personnel and outside organizations for the purpose of coordinating activities, resolving issues and conflicts and exchanging information.
- Conducts on-site job inspections to monitor progress and approve completed projects for the purpose of ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and are within plans, codes and specifications.
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars (e.g. with principals, city personnel, Physical Facilities Supervisor, department leads, etc.) for the purpose of coordinating building management activities, resolving issues and conflicts, and conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g. hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, disciplining, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and ensuring department program outcomes are achieved.
- Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. job costs estimates, reports, work schedules of district maintenance department crews, budget allocations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that district objectives are achieved within budget and timeframes and in compliance with established requirements.
- Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions on issues that relate to repair, maintenance and remodeling projects (e.g. budget allocations, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or direction for making decisions within the district maintenance program.
- Responds to emergency situations during and after work hours for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns.
- 2 years experience in K-12/Commercial Building maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent.
