    Description:

The Director of Accelerated Learning & Next Level Readiness provides strategic leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight for the district's advanced academic initiatives and secondary transition pathways. This role is divided into two core areas of systemic impact:
    • Accelerated Learning: Overseeing equitable access, development, and excellence in Gifted and Talented (GT) programs, Dual Language Immersion (DLI) pathways, and Advanced Placement (AP) coursework district-wide.
    • Next Level Readiness: Driving the integration of the Aspen Peaks Portrait of a Graduate, coordinating secondary graduation credit pathways with school administrators and counseling departments, and serving as the primary district liaison for Concurrent Enrollment (CE) partnerships.

The Director works collaboratively with school administrators, PLC coaches, counselors, teachers, and post-secondary partners to ensure all students are prepared for academic success, post-secondary opportunities, and life beyond graduation.

    Essential Functions:
    • Design, implement, and evaluate the district-wide identification, placement, and instructional services for Gifted and Talented students.
    • Ensure compliance with state regulations regarding gifted education.
    • Partner with schools to implement differentiated instruction and specialized programming that challenges high-ability learners.
    • Lead initiatives to increase the representation of historically underserved student populations in gifted programming.
    • Oversee the secondary transition, continuation, and expansion of DLI programs across the district.
    • Monitor student progression, proficiency growth, and curriculum alignment in target languages.
    • Analyze AP enrollment and performance data to remove barriers to entry and increase access for all students.
    • Collaborate regularly with high school principals, registrars, and counseling departments to coordinate credit audits, graduation pathways, and scheduling alignments.
    • Ensure accurate tracking of graduation requirements and state accountability metrics related to college and career readiness.
    • Serve as the central district liaison to higher education institution partners (universities, colleges, and technical colleges).
    • Manage program budgets, including the strategic allocation of state, federal, or local funds dedicated to advanced placement, dual language, gifted education, and concurrent enrollment.
    • Analyze student participation, demographic representation, and achievement data across all areas of responsibility to drive continuous improvement and equity.
    • Develop and deliver clear, accessible communication materials for families, students, and community partners regarding advanced academic options and readiness resources.

    Qualifications:

    Credentials, education, and experience
    • Master's degree required; advanced preparation in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, secondary education, or a closely related field.
    • Appropriate administrator license authorizing service as an administrator/supervisor required.
    • Successful school or district leadership experience required, preferably in secondary setting or advanced learning programs (AP, DLI, GT).
    • Knowledge of research-based instructional practices, differentiation, and the developmental needs of high ability and language learning students.
    • Proficiency in retrieving, analyzing, and presenting academic and demographic data to inform program adjustments and strategic decisions.
    • Strong organizational, project-management, communication, and collaboration skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Endorsement in Gifted and Talented Education or Dual Language Immersion.
    • Experience managing multi-school program implementations and district level budgets.
    • Strong familiarity with state high school graduation requirements, college admissions pathways, and concurrent enrollment programs.
