Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Excavation Operator/Foreman to lead excavation and utility installation projects on construction sites.
Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks.
- Lead and supervise a team of construction workers and equipment operators on-site to ensure productivity and safety standards are met.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Oversee construction utility work such as utility locating, trenching, backfilling, and pipe installation in accordance with project plans.
- Adhere to all federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures while maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to plan daily activities, monitor progress, and adjust operations as needed.
- Ensure proper documentation of work performed, including shift reports, safety logs, and inspection records.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery
- Strong background in excavation projects involving utility installation and construction grading.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations (OSHA standards) and adherence to equipment safety procedures.
- Construction site experience with utility work including utility locating and trenching activities.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance on construction machinery.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous experience supervising or leading a crew on active job sites.
