DEPUTY AUDITOR

Under general supervision, to assist the Department of Finance by performing technical accounting work in the preparation and maintenance of the County’s financial records; to audit financial transactions of all County departments and special districts; and to perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in accounting or closely related field.

Experience: Two years of progressively responsible technical, fiscal and accounting experience, preferably in a county Auditor-Controller’s office.

Required: Possession of a valid driver’s license.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: 100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a one year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.

o Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employees with co-payment by employees, dependent upon family status.

o Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.

o Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.

o Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.

o Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan for New Members
