Role Description The A&P Mechanic role is a full-time, on-site in Anchorage or remote position located in Alaska, supporting the maintenance and safe operation of Alpine Air Alaska’s helicopter fleet. Daily responsibilities include performing scheduled and unscheduled inspections, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs and component replacements in accordance with FAA regulations and company standards. The A&P Mechanic will document all maintenance activities accurately, maintain detailed records, and ensure aircraft airworthiness before release to service. The role also involves collaborating with pilots and operations staff to identify maintenance needs, monitoring parts inventory, and contributing to continuous improvement of safety and maintenance practices. This position requires working in a hands-on environment with a focus on reliability, quality, and adherence to regulatory and manufacturer guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong aircraft maintenance skills with experience working on rotary-wing aircraft and general Aircraft systems.
- Knowledge of PowerPlant systems, including troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of engines and related components.
- Ability to assess and maintain Airworthiness, applying FAA regulations, manufacturer manuals, and company procedures.
- Understanding of Aircraft Systems such as hydraulics, avionics, electrical, and flight control systems.
- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
- Previous experience in helicopter maintenance or similar aviation environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, safety mindset, and ability to work in varying weather and field conditions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a small, operationally focused team.
