What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Service and Operations Associate position at Alpina Wealth Management?
Fully remote. Part-time W-2. Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. Pacific business hours availability.
The Opportunity
Alpina Wealth Management is seeking an experienced wealth-management client service professional for a highly flexible, part-time position. This opportunity may be especially well suited to an experienced client service associate, operations professional, or advisor-support professional who enjoys the industry and takes pride in excellent client service.
This is not an entry-level administrative position. We are looking for someone who can work with a high degree of independence, exercise sound judgment, solve operational problems, and take ownership of client service requests from beginning to completion.
Deep familiarity with LPL Financial and ClientWorks is preferred. Candidates with substantial experience using another major custodian or broker-dealer platform will also be considered.
What You Will Own
· Process new accounts, account maintenance, transfers, and related documentation.
· Process and monitor client-authorized cash distributions, account transfers, and other money-movement requests under LPL procedures, and escalate requests involving securities transactions, recommendations, or investment judgment to an appropriately registered professional.
· Prepare, send, monitor, and follow up on electronic-signature paperwork.
· Identify and resolve not-in-good-order items and other operational issues.
· Communicate with LPL service teams and third-party custodians or providers to move requests forward.
· Manage client service requests from initial receipt through final resolution.
· Maintain accurate, concise notes, tasks, and workflows in Wealthbox.
· Support client meeting preparation and follow-through.
· Proactively follow up on outstanding items and keep the appropriate people informed.
· Recognize which matters require advisor or compliance involvement and which can be resolved independently.
· Help improve repeatable service workflows as opportunities arise.
What We Are Looking For
· Significant prior experience in wealth-management client service or operations, ideally as a senior client service associate, registered client associate, operations manager, paraplanner, or advisor-support professional.
· Strong working knowledge of account opening, account maintenance, asset transfers, money movement, and operational problem resolution.
· LPL Financial and ClientWorks experience preferred.
· Experience with Wealthbox or a comparable wealth-management CRM preferred.
· A strong work ethic, high personal integrity, and a consistent commitment to doing what is right for clients and the firm.
· A genuine enjoyment of working with business owners, executives, and affluent private clients, demonstrated through a warm, friendly, and service-oriented approach in both verbal and written communication.
· Exceptional attention to detail and disciplined follow-through, with the ability to track commitments, anticipate next steps, and bring client requests to complete resolution.
· Ability to handle confidential client and financial information with discretion.
· Excellent judgment, organization, and accountability, including the ability to identify priorities, work independently, and communicate proactively when an issue requires attention.
· Current or previously held Series 7 and Series 66, or Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65, are preferred but not required. Prior LPL Financial registration or affiliation is desirable.
Employment is contingent upon required background checks, fingerprinting, and applicable LPL affiliation or state-registration requirements. Duties are limited to activities permitted by the employee's registrations, role, and firm policies.
Schedule and Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote, part-time W-2 position requiring approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. The schedule offers meaningful flexibility, with regular availability during Pacific time zone business hours for client service, custodian contact, and team coordination.
The employee may work from anywhere in the United States, subject to Alpina Wealth Management's ability to employ team members in the employee's state of residence and any applicable regulatory or registration requirements.
Compensation
$30 to $38 per hour, depending on relevant experience, platform knowledge, licenses, and demonstrated ability to work independently.
