$21 - $28/hourMissionThe Title Clerk prepares and processes title documents to transfer ownership of new and used vehicles to buyers.OutcomesSuccessful candidates will:
- Prepare applicable tax and registration/title documents and submit documents timely and accurately to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
- Assist customers with completion of forms; respond to inquiries related to vehicle titling process; send packets to customers
- Verify funds have been collected on sales before processing titles and verify all money owed
- Maintain copies of relevant title paperwork, organize documents, scan all completed deal documents into the computer system
- Assure new products are warranty registered with the manufacturer on a timely basis
- Track and process all inventory to maintain accuracy of data in the manner currently prescribed by New York State regulation
- May provide backup support for the receptionist and/or perform other clerical duties as assigned
- High school diploma
- 1 year experience as a Title Clerk, or similar administrative position, preferred
- Possess Notary Public license or willing to obtain upon employment
Compentencies
- Working knowledge of Department of Motor Vehicles titling procedures
- Solid computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Good verbal communication and listening skills, and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Experience in following verbal and written guidelines to perform job functions
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Talking and hearing, sitting, repetitive hand motion, using hands to grasp, and reaching with arms/hands, are required.
- No exposure to adverse environmental conditions; work is performed in a typical office environment.
