Job Description: JOB PURPOSE: The Warehouse Assistant position is responsible for the pulling and staging of orders for delivery with extreme accuracy. Unloading and loading inbound and outbound shipments. Ensuring specifications, quality and quantity of orders are correct. Provide support to the Warehouse Manager for ongoing projects and daily tasks. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Operate: -Tote bag machine -Bag line -Labeling equipment -Lot code equipment -Sample finished product Receive and ship feed and ingredients. Load and unload trucks Weigh out ingredients. ·Sample ingredients Assist with stocking shelves. Load trucks safely and efficiently ·Maintain segregation of ingredients Assist with inventory count and control. Monitor quality of inbound ingredients Perform scale checks. Sweep out warehouse. Manage trash compactors. Uphold a safe work environment for yourself and others. Knowledge of forklift safety rules Provide support to the Warehouse Manager for ongoing projects and daily tasks. Report needed repairs. Ensure warehouse operates according to company policies and procedures. Report human and food safety hazards Responsibility to identify and communicate food safety and/or product integrity issues to appropriate personnel. ·Provide high level of service to ALPHIA customers. Be available to help in other departments when asked upon by your manager. Regular, predictable attendance is required and is an essential function of the position. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required). Education: High school diploma/GED required. Experience: Two years prior experience working in shipping, receiving, and packaging is required, but not required. Prior forklift experience desired. Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a forklift certification through ALPHIA required. Ability to operate forklift, scan guns, and computers required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other related software Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. Basic math skills including addition and subtraction.
