Senior Estimator - Healthcare & Commercial Construction

We are hiring an experienced Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating for healthcare, institutional, and commercial construction projects.

We are specifically looking for a senior-level estimator with direct general contractor experience who has independently priced hospitals, medical facilities, occupied healthcare renovations, or similarly complex projects. The right candidate must be able to own an estimate from early conceptual budgeting through final proposal and turnover to operations.

This is a hands-on estimating role. You will develop and validate takeoffs, build detailed project budgets, manage subcontractor coverage, identify scope gaps and risk, and help create competitive strategies for negotiated, GMP, and hard-bid opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual, schematic, design-development, GMP, and final bid estimates
• Perform and validate quantity takeoffs across architectural, structural, civil, and MEP scopes
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing, level bids, and confirm complete trade coverage
• Identify missing scope, constructability concerns, escalation exposure, schedule risks, and pricing gaps
• Develop value-engineering options, bid clarifications, cost-saving recommendations, and proposal documentation
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, pre-bid discussions, and pursuit strategy reviews
• Complete detailed project turnover to Project Managers, Superintendents, and operations teams
  
  

Requirements

• 8 years of estimating or preconstruction experience with a commercial general contractor
• Direct experience estimating hospitals, medical facilities, healthcare renovations, or occupied healthcare projects
• Proven ability to independently manage an estimate from initial concept through final proposal
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, trade coverage, general conditions, and construction costs
• Ability to identify design gaps, project risks, constructability issues, and cost-saving opportunities
• Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff platforms, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and deadline-management skills
