A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking a Medical Assistant for a Women’s HealthCare company to assist physicians/CNMs/NPs with patient care, clerical, chart management, environmental and organizational tasks. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the practice services. Conveys a positive image for the practice. May be assigned to specific medical task GYN and/or OB triage, calling and notifying patients of lab results and plan of care as directed by provider and prescription refills. All patient phone conversations will be documented in the EMR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including room preparation, patient intake, history collection, screenings, specimen collection, injections, blood draws, and assistance with procedures.
- Coordinate patient flow and daily schedules; communicate with providers and medical assistants to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the EMR; review, update, and maintain patient records, facesheets, templates, labs, and reports.
- Communicate provider instructions, test results, and follow-up information to patients and families; handle phone calls, messages, emails, and prescription requests as directed.
- Assist providers with orders, consents, coding documentation, lab tracking, and insurance-specific requirements.
- Perform clerical duties including sending/receiving medical records, obtaining external reports, and ensuring documents are properly filed and imported into the EMR.
- Maintain exam and procedure rooms by cleaning, restocking supplies, managing biohazard disposal, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to infection control and OSHA standards.
- Support patient rights, respond appropriately to emergencies, communicate issues promptly to supervisors, and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member and assist with shared duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Environment:
- Standard schedule is Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- This role includes travel once or twice a month to the Fayetteville location.
Must Have Qualifications
- Current CMA, ABR, or RMA certification required.
- 2 years of clinical experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in core clinical tasks, including:
- Vital signs and orthostatic measurements
- Accurate patient histories and chief complaints
- Urine screening and culture collection
- Venipuncture and specimen handling
- Assisting with exams and procedures
- EMR documentation
- Competent in the use and routine maintenance of clinical equipment, including:
- Scale and height chart
- Fetal heart monitor
- Endometrial suction device
- Cryosurgical instruments
- Sphygmomanometer and stethoscope
- Autoclave
- Microscope
- Colposcopy and LEEP equipment
Nice to Have Qualifications
- Active Georgia nursing license (RN or LPN).
- Specific clinical experience in an OB/GYN setting
- Experience with Epic EHR
Environment:
- Standard schedule is Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Location: 775 Poplar Road, Suite 210, Newnan, GA 30265
- This role includes travel once or twice a month to the Fayetteville location.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay approximately $19/hr. - $21/hr. depending on experience.
- Medical insurance provided/paid by the employer for the employee.
- After 90 days of employment, employees receive their initial set of company‑issued uniforms.
- Each year thereafter, employees receive a uniform voucher.
