Job Summary: To assist in the operation of a Base Supply Center in compliance with the AbilityOne Program, Alphapointe, federal, and military guidelines. Perform cashier and stock clerk duties and assist with all aspects of customer service and store maintenance.

Essential Functions:

• Receive payment for goods purchased in the form of authorized form of payment, issue receipt and other record of purchase required by customer.
• Maintain transaction records and register reconciliation documentation.
• Operate cash register with peripheral electronic data processing equipment by passing individual price coded items across electronic data scanner to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase on monitor screen.
• Inventory, store, price, and restock merchandise displays.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons or crates of merchandise, checking invoice against items received.
• Stamp, attach, or change price tags on merchandise, referring to price list.
• Assist customers with locating products or connect them with a purchasing agent for a special order.
• Set up advertising signs and display merchandise on shelves, counters, or tables to attract customers and promote sales.
• Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles.
• Pack customer purchases in bags or cartons and assist with loading into customer vehicle as required.

Additional Functions:

• Operate material handling equipment to include forklift and pallet jacks.
• Assist with clerical duties and routine office functions as required.
• Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Asst. Store Manager.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior work experience within a retail store preferred.
• Ability to operate computerized cash registers and related equipment.
• General knowledge of office equipment and machines, including computer terminal and desktop computer.
• Ability to deal pleasantly and courteously with management, customers, and co-workers, by telephone, written correspondence, and in person.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
