We are looking for a Crew Leader to lead nationwide industrial installation projects, with a strong focus on hands-on mechanical assembly, industrial equipment installation, and small crew leadership in a travel-heavy environment.
This role operates within a field-based industrial installation company supporting manufacturing and commercial facilities across the country. The position carries direct responsibility for leading 3-5 person crews on multi-week installations involving paint booths, conveyor systems, roll-up doors, and related industrial equipment. This is not a traditional construction superintendent or project management role - it is a working field leadership position for someone who still enjoys being on the tools while leading crews onsite.
Responsibilities
- Lead small field crews on nationwide industrial equipment installation projects lasting up to 2-3 weeks at a time
- Perform hands-on mechanical assembly, equipment installation, and light electrical work in active industrial and manufacturing environments
- Read and interpret installation drawings, layouts, and basic electrical schematics during field execution
- Coordinate daily onsite logistics, materials, and installation sequencing to keep projects moving efficiently
- Troubleshoot installation issues in the field and communicate solutions directly with leadership
- Install paint booths, roll-up doors, conveyor systems, and related industrial equipment
- Maintain quality and safety standards while working extended shifts and travel schedules
- Train and mentor junior installers and field technicians during active projects
- Travel nationally for projects while maintaining strong communication and reliability onsite
Requirements
- 2 years of experience leading crews in industrial installation, mechanical assembly, electrical installation, HVAC installation, or manufacturing maintenance environments
- Prior hands-on experience working in the field daily is required
- Comfortable traveling nationally for extended project durations throughout the year
- Experience reading blueprints, layouts, or installation drawings preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, shutdown, or equipment installation environments preferred
- Must be comfortable performing physical field work and working overtime when projects require it
- Residential-only construction experience will not be sufficient for this role
