Overview
We're looking for a sharp and detail-oriented Business Development Analyst to help us grow and maintain our Japan LP base, executing at an institutional level without losing the agility of a high-performing startup.
This is a full-time role supporting investor communications, relationship management, and industry engagement, with a specific focus on the Japan market. The position begins in our New York office, where you'll spend an initial 6-12 months embedded with the U.S. business development team — learning the firm's investment strategy, processes, and investor materials firsthand. After this ramp period, you'll relocate to Japan to support local fundraising activities, investor relations, and on-the-ground market development.
This is a unique opportunity for bilingual Japanese and English speaking talent to build a career at the intersection of venture investing and institutional fundraising, starting at the firm's New York headquarters and growing into a market-facing role in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the team in the investment process with high-profile tech companies in the U.S. AI and robotics sectors
- Prepare project materials, presentations, and investment memos for investors, including Japanese-language translations and localized materials for Japan-based LPs
- Support managers in maintaining relationships with investors and strategic partners, with an emphasis on Japanese institutional investors, family offices, and corporate partners
- Help coordinate and organize industry events, investor roundtables, and related activities in both the U.S. and Japan
- Conduct market research on the Japanese investor landscape and identify potential LP opportunities
- Support other ad-hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Full professional or native-level proficiency in Japanese (verbal and written) and fluent business-level English required
- College seniors graduating in Summer or Winter 2026, or recent graduates, preferred
- Genuine interest in finance, venture capital, and AI/technology sectors
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the start of the role
- Willingness and ability to relocate to Japan upon transition to a full-time role
- Prior internship or coursework in finance, consulting, or business development is a plus
