Overview

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Laboratory Analyst is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to analyze reference materials for certification. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act impartially and work in accordance with the laboratory’s management system.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation to ensure equipment is calibrated and functioning properly. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze samples in various stages of the production process, including raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Accurately record test results and observations. Analyze data to identify trends, deviations, and potential issues.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, including maintaining clean and organized workspaces.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation to support quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology or a related field.
  • 1-2 years Inorganic/Metallurgy laboratory experience preferred.
  • Previous work with Combustion Elemental Analyzers (LECO, ELTRA, OES, XRAY) desired.
  • Experience with ASTM methods and ISO standards (ISO 17025 & 17034) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.55 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
