What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant - Aerospace Manufacturing position at Alpha Q, Inc.?
Alpha Q, Inc. is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant. This is a full-time 1st shift position located at our Colchester, CT facility.
Position Description:
In this role, you will manage tool inventory and support the manufacturing shop floor by ensuring tools and materials are organized, maintained, and properly distributed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Tool Crib to include, but not limited to:
- Maintain, organize, and manage tool crib inventory, including storage, verification of incoming materials, and accurate distribution to recipients
- Preset, issue, and track tools for machinists and shop floor personnel
- Inspect returned tools and route them for sharpening or repair as needed
- Monitor and manage inventory for tool vending machines and first aid cabinets
- Update and maintain material safety data sheets in the online management system
- Perform other support tasks as training and workload allow
Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in a manufacturing shop floor setting preferred (will consider someone with technical training or education)
- Working knowledge of tool and/or machining found in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Highly organized and able to cross train in different areas of the shop
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to work overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor to meet customer demands
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
Education:
- High school or vocational graduate (technical education or training preferred)
