Position Overview and Responsibilities
This is a full-time on-site role for a Project Manager II located in Crown Point, IN. The Project Manager II is responsible for leading and managing electrical transmission and substation projects from inception through completion. This role oversees all phases of project delivery, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Project Manager II collaborates with internal engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to coordinate resources, resolve issues, and drive project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for electrical transmission and substation projects.
- Lead project teams, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure milestones are met.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for project execution.
- Monitor and control project costs, providing regular updates and reports to management.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
- Resolve technical and logistical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and closeout reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of project management experience in electrical transmission and substation projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of electrical transmission systems, substation design, and construction practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with project management software and tools.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
Work Environment
This position may require travel to project sites and occasional evening or weekend work, depending on project demands. The Project Manager II must be able to work in both office and field environments.
