Role Description

This is a voluntary, unpaid online role for an Equity Research Analyst at Alpha Over Beta Capital, open to current high school and college students. The Equity Research Analyst will conduct data-driven financial and investment research, perform financial modeling, analyze market trends, and contribute to the development of investment strategies using simulated trading. Additional responsibilities include preparing research reports, presenting actionable insights to the team, and supporting risk management and portfolio optimization initiatives. While unpaid, this role offers meaningful experience and direct exposure to a hedge fund-style environment that stands out on any college or internship application.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and synthesize financial data
• Interest in financial modeling and investment valuation techniques
• A genuine passion for finance, markets, and investing
• Ability to conduct research on financial markets, economic trends, and financial instruments
• Currently enrolled in high school or college
• Familiarity with Excel, Python, R, or any data analysis tools is a plus — but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
