PRN Physical Therapist – Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable PRN Physical Therapist to provide coverage at our McKinney and Prosper physical therapy clinics. This position primarily treats patients recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries, including sports medicine and joint-related conditions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, adapting to different clinic environments, and traveling between both locations based on staffing and patient-care needs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, mobility, and functional limitations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnoses, physician protocols, functional goals, and expected outcomes.
- Provide evidence-based treatment to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or reduce disability.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance.
- Use appropriate therapeutic techniques and modalities within the physical therapist’s scope of practice.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding home exercise programs, injury prevention, postoperative precautions, and safe use of assistive devices.
- Monitor patient progress, perform periodic reassessments, and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Follow applicable billing, coding, compliance, safety, and documentation requirements.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and other members of the care team.
- Provide PRN coverage at both the McKinney and Prosper locations as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current and unrestricted Texas Physical Therapist license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Orthopedic, sports medicine, and postoperative rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, time-management, and documentation skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel between the McKinney and Prosper locations.
- Ability to meet the physical demands associated with providing hands-on patient care.
