We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team and support our commitment to quality excellence and customer satisfaction.
Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality through first-piece, in-process, and final inspections while supporting the Quality Management System and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong inspection skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring only conforming products move through the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of products in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and job travelers.
- Utilize a variety of inspection equipment and measurement tools to verify dimensional and visual compliance.
- Perform simple and complex inspection setups and layout inspections following written and verbal instructions.
- Conduct routine visual inspections and identify nonconforming material or product conditions.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain organized quality records.
- Conduct and support internal audits and quality evaluations.
- Assist in maintaining and improving quality control procedures and inspection processes.
- Communicate with customers through portals, email, and other systems regarding product compliance documentation, including RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, Toxic Substance, Waste Framework, and related requirements.
- Investigate quality issues, identify defects, and assist with root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Support containment and disposition of nonconforming materials.
- Maintain calibration awareness and proper use of inspection equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Comply with all Quality, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), customer, and company requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer proficiency and experience with electronic documentation systems.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Ability to use inspection and measurement equipment accurately.
- Self-motivated, hands-on professional with a practical mindset and strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or precision manufacturing environments.
- Experience performing first article, in-process, and final inspections.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and related inspection tools.
- Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Experience supporting AS9100 audits and quality compliance activities.
