Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Maintenance Department
Reports to: Director of Administration
Position Summary:
The maintenance technician position is a full-time position with hours from 7 am to 3:30/4:30 pm M-F and 8 am to 12 pm on some Saturdays. Over-time hours may be required at times, but in general we make every effort to work around an employee's family schedule. The team member in this critical role works in close coordination with process and quality to provide superior quality and rapid turnaround for customers, and to minimize any downtime. They are also responsible for following procedures concerning the safety and quality requirements as documented in the quality system.
This person will be working under general supervision, assisting with all maintenance, preventative maintenance requirements, and wastewater treatment while ensuring standard operating procedures are maintained and consistently followed. Regular exposure to facility elements such as noise, dust, odors and fumes and demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and safety devices. This person may also assist with production or process when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Support production with preventative maintenance tasks not limited to equipment but to assist in facilitating the tank empty/clean and refill tanks out on production lines
- Support and assist in the treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste water and chemicals
- Testing of chemistry and calibration of waste water treatment instruments
- Document all required readings throughout treatment process
- Collect and maintain maintenance and waste water treatment logs
- Support production lines with maintenance of tanks, pumps, heaters, control boxes and all other various equipment necessary for the production line to operate.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Support project and miscellaneous activities as prescribed by management
- Maintain equipment and facility at a high level by performing quality work
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
- Operate a forklift
- Inform purchasing when waste water and maintenance supplies need to be ordered
- Interact respectfully and professionally with vendors
- Interact respectfully and professionally with the team
- Other duties may be assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Trade school or college studies a plus
- Manufacturing and maintenance experience preferred
- Welding, Electrical & Plumbing experience preferred
- Working knowledge of computers is required
- Person must be visually detail-oriented and able to follow instructions
- High degree of attention to detail and care to prevent injury to yourself and/or others
- Ability to listen openly, communicate effectively and accept assistance from other personnel
- Must have willingness to work in team setting
- Person may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, bend, reach and move about the facility
