POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Door Technician to join our expanding field team. You will handle the full lifecycle of commercial door systems — from precision installation to maintenance, emergency repair, and client service — across metal, aluminum, glass, automatic, and sliding door platforms.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates professionally with clients, and is ready to step into a position with real growth potential on large-scale commercial projects across the NYC metro area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, service, and repair metal, aluminum, glass, sliding, and automatic commercial door systems
• Work on fire-rated door frames, exit devices, door closers (surface, floor-mount, and concealed), and locksets
• Install and adjust door hardware: push bars, panic hardware, hinges, pivots, and electronic hardware
• Perform precision installation of glass door systems and storefront entrances
• Diagnose mechanical and structural door issues and deliver effective, lasting repair solutions
• Maintain clear, professional communication with clients on-site
• Submit accurate daily job reports and maintain vehicle inventory of tools and materials
• Collaborate with team members on multi-technician projects and respond to emergency service calls
• Uphold Alpha's standards of quality, safety, and professionalism on every job

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a commercial door technician (metal, aluminum, glass, automatic)
• AAADM - Certification Required
• Proficiency with power tools, measuring instruments, and professional installation techniques
• Strong mechanical aptitude and systematic troubleshooting skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
• Ability to work independently and as part of a coordinated team
• Valid U.S. Driver's License (clean record preferred)
• Authorized to work in the United States

WHAT WE OFFER

• $25.00–$35.00/hour based on experience (pay reviewed at 90 days)
• Company vehicle provided for all job-related travel
• Full-time schedule: 8–10 hour shifts, Monday–Friday with overtime available

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Door Technician: 5 years (commercial preferred)
• Customer-facing / field service: 5 years
• Experience with automatic door systems, concealed closers, and electronic access hardware
• Prior work on storefront glass, curtain wall, or fire-rated assemblies a strong plus
