What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator/ CNC Shop Helper position at Alpha Iron, LLC?
Growing steel fabrication shop, Alpha Iron, LLC, is looking for high-energy, motivated CNC Operators/ CNC Shop Helpers. A CNC Operator drives the flow through the shop. Utilizing automated plasma, burn tables, CNC drilling and robotic fitting/ welding. A CNC Shop Helper assists the CNC operators with loading/unloading material, assists welders and fitters with materials & prep and keeps the shop organized. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who are wanting a career and not just a job. We offer on-the-job training with welding, fitting and CNC machine operation. Something for all skill levels to come train for success.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist Python and Plate Table Operators with loading/unloading material
- Assist with shipping and receiving materials for the shop -Assist Welders/Fitters in organizing and preparing their materials (grinding, cleaning, etc.)
- Daily housekeeping of the shop (organizing, cleaning etc.)
Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-3 years on the job experience in a structural shop, or similar environment
- Prior experience working with CNC machines is preferred, but not required
- Operate a forklift (certification preferred, but not required)
- Operate an Overhead Crane (preferred, not required)
- Computer literate (basic Office programs, internet and email)
- Able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift 60-90 lbs 3 feet
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
- Trade school preferred
