Experienced Medical Assistant (MA)

Position Summary:
Alpha Internal Medicine is seeking a reliable and experienced Phone Medical Assistant to join our team. This role supports providers in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients, obtain vitals, and document in EMR (EPIC)
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures
- Administer injections, immunizations, and perform phlebotomy as needed
- Manage patient flow to maintain efficiency and minimize wait times
- Handle prior authorizations, referrals, and basic administrative tasks
- Take inbound and out bound calls for patients and refill medication, make referrals and do prior authorizations for certain medication.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of medical assistant experience (required)
- Experience in internal medicine or family practice preferred
- Strong EMR/EHR EPIC experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Be able to sit for 6-8 hours a day
- Strong Epic experience
- Must know how to do prior auth for medications
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
