POSITION SUMMARY
The Concrete Project Manager is responsible for fundamental project management tasks related to concrete, including securing and managing project cost, schedule, and performance in conformance with company policy, standards, objectives, and goals. This position will ensure project deadlines are met in a timely manner and is committed to delivering quality work above and beyond specifications and expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate, review, and approve estimates, contracts, change orders, work orders, etc.
- Responsible for overall project management on all projects, profit/loss, and successful completion from bid to closeout.
- Investigate potential serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Create, review, and maintain project schedules.
- Prepare project documents including progress reports, project schedule updates, and financial/budget updates.
- Work with project managers, superintendents, and/or foremen to plan, organize, and direct activities associated with projects.
- Confer with project managers and superintendents to discuss work procedures, complaints, and concrete problems.
- Initiate periodic meetings and other forms of communication with project team members and customers to inform them of unresolved problems and provide solutions.
- Monitor project progress for adherence to schedule and man-hour expenditures versus percent complete.
- Be familiar with RFIs, RFPs, and Change Orders (COs) that affect the original contract work and verify subcontractors are in compliance.
- Draft all contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Monitor project scope for changes affecting budget and schedule; identify causes, advise customers, and negotiate changes in fees.
- Ensure all daily issues are addressed and be responsible for smooth transitions to clients.
- Identify solutions to problems that might impede project progress or adversely affect customer relations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree in Construction Management or related engineering field preferred.
- Minimum 2β3 years of concrete, construction, and/or project management experience required.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Mac Suites required.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat preferred.
- Proficiency in Project Management Accounting Software preferred.
