Respiratory Therapist - Weekender Nights

Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT- Weekender

Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL

Hours: Full Time, 36 hours/week, night shifts on weekends; holiday coverage required when falls on weekend

Pay Range: $33.16 - $51.40/hour, based on experience and expertise

Responsibilities Include

• Performing, teaching, and guiding all forms of respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics
• Assessing and treating patients across all ages, involving family education and care planning
• Administering respiratory therapies, managing equipment, and understanding indications and hazards
• Providing advanced respiratory care, airway management during CPR, and external cardiac massage if needed
• Performing blood gas analysis, pulmonary function testing, and related quality control
• Explaining procedures, developing home care instructions, and participating in continuing education
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to optimize patient care and documenting in patient records
• Maintaining equipment, supervising staff, and performing duties of the Director in their absence
  
  

Qualifications Include

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible
• State licensure within 6 months
• Current CPR certification; ACLS, NRP, PALS within 24 months
• Knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis, and cardiopulmonary physiology
