Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Overnight Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises during nighttime hours. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for monitoring access points, conducting patrols, and maintaining a secure environment for staff, visitors, and property. Duties
- Monitor surveillance systems and perform regular CCTV inspections to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Control access to the facility using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations of personnel and visitors.
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises, including building interiors, exteriors, parking areas, and restricted zones, ensuring physical security measures are upheld.
- Respond promptly to alarms or emergency situations by following established emergency response procedures; provide first aid or CPR if necessary.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual activities observed during shifts.
- Perform background checks on visitors or contractors as required to maintain a secure environment.
- Manage conflict de-escalation techniques and law enforcement coordination when necessary to handle disturbances professionally.
Experience
- Prior experience in security 3 years plus, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance technology, access control systems, and physical security protocols.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and Taser use is preferred; training in firearm handling is a plus.
- Experience performing background checks and incident report writing with attention to detail.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when required for equipment or safety measures.
- Strong understanding of emergency response procedures, fire safety protocols, and compliance with security regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with conflict management abilities to handle challenging situations effectively.
