Description
Alpha Geotechnical & Materials, Inc. is an Arizona-based construction materials testing firm located in Tempe. The firm provides construction material testing and oversight to project primarily in Maricopa County. We are seeking a motivated and skilled project manager to oversee project financials, review daily test data, aid in the development of our technicians and maintain client relationships. This position will provide the opportunity to work as a leader in a growing company.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications and professional reports
- Develop proposals for construction materials testing and inspection for residential, commercial and municipal projects.
- Review daily reports and associated construction materials test results.
- Manage multiple project budgets, document changes in the scope of work, produce change orders and develop final project deliverables.
- Communicate and coordinate with clients, contractor and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in construction coordination meetings.
- Aid in the development and training of field technicians.
- Assures compliance with company and OSHA safety requirements.
- Work as a troubleshooter to develop solutions for project and company issues.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, OR 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction materials testing and construction inspection industry with applicable ACI and ATTI certifications.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Clean motor vehicle record for at least 5 years.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient with standard computer software such as Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to work outdoors on construction sites and/or in a desert environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
