The Role
We're hiring BAS Technicians at two levels, helper/entry-level and experienced, to join our growing field team. You'll install, commission, program, and service building automation systems across commercial and industrial sites throughout the Washington, DC metro area (DC, Maryland, and Virginia). This is an in-person, field-based role. A valid driver's license and the ability to report to job sites across the DMV region are required.
Level Breakdown
Helper/Tech 1 - $22-$34/hr
- Assist senior technicians with installation, wiring, and termination of BAS components
- Pull wire, mount controllers, sensors, and actuators
- Learn BACnet, Modbus, LONtalk, and other field protocols on the job
- Support commissioning and troubleshooting under direct supervision
- Maintain a safe and organized job site
Tech 2 - $36-$46/hr
- Independently install, program, and commission BAS/BMS/EMS systems
- Configure and troubleshoot controllers from Aether Energy Alliance, Strato Automation, iSMA Controlli, and similar platforms
- Familiar with Niagara/N4
- Integrate disparate systems using BACnet, Modbus, LONtalk, and proprietary protocols
- Perform preventative maintenance, trend analysis, and system diagnostics
- Assist with client training and project documentation
- Mentor Level 1 technicians in the field
What we're looking for
- Must currently reside in the Washington, DC metro area (DC, MD, or VA) - no exceptions
- Experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or electrical systems (Level 2 requires 3 years)
- Familiarity with BAS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LONtalk (Level 2)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- HVAC, electrical, or controls certifications are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Tech 1 / Helper: $22–$34/hr based on experience
- Tech 2: $36–$46/hr based on experience
