Job Overview
In this position as a driver for a busy cab company here in Elizabethtown, you have the opportunity to set your pay by the amount you are willing to work taking home 40% of all fares while you are on the road. Alpha Cab needs motivated individuals that have a flexible schedule. You are required to have a valid driver’s license, your own vehicle in your name, and valid vehicle insurance. You are required to keep your vehicle clean and presentable for customers as you want to make sure you allow your customers to feel as comfortable possible while riding with you.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate your vehicle at all times, no breaking the speed limit, always wearing your seat belt and ensuring your customers do as well.
- Provide courteous and professional service to passengers, assisting with boarding, luggage handling, and special needs accommodations when necessary
- Plan efficient routes using GPS or traditional navigation tools to optimize travel time and fuel efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle to ensure safety and comfort for all passengers
- Collect fares or process electronic payments accurately while issuing receipts as needed
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers or coordinators regarding schedules, traffic conditions, or any incidents during trips
- Adhere to all safety protocols and driving regulations to ensure passenger safety at all times
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is a plus!
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, or in similar transportation roles
- Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic laws, and navigation techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Physical ability to assist passengers with luggage or mobility aids when necessary
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
