Data Analyst

Position: Data Catalog Senior Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL

Duration: 6 Months

PURPOSE:

We are looking for an experienced data governance professional to assist with enhancing the adoption of our data catalog product.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Educate Data Stewards on their responsibilities and prepare reporting on their metadata curation status.

2. Establish and maintain asset ownership process.

3. Conduct discovery and testing on new features.

4. Provide user support and monitor Teams Channel.

5. Ensure adherence to data governance best practices.

6. Design and implement process to enrich assets when ingested.

7. Develop operations administrative user guide and services catalog.

8. Curate and maintain glossary along with change management process.

9. Develop measurements and process to monitor tool performance to identify any issues or areas for improvement.

10. Partner with communications lead to develop training materials and conduct sessions.

11. Define and execute controls to confirm completeness and accuracy of metadata.

12. Develop daily health check process to confirm continuing data catalog functionality.

13. Collaborate with Product Manager, Platform team, IT to ensure future integrations/connections are set up and onboard applications to Atlan based on roadmap priorities.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum five years experience in data governance or data analysis role.

2. Proficient in implementing/managing data catalog products.

3. Demonstrated understanding of metadata management, data governance, and lineage concepts.

4. Excellent problem-solving skills.

5. Strong verbal and communication skills.

6. Highly self-directed with the ability to multitask.

7. Experience with Atlan preferred.

8. Hospitality experience a plus.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in information management, Data Science, or related field.
