We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our dehydrated media packaging and fulfillment line.
Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the filling, labeling, and packaging operations for dehydrated culture media. This position ensures production goals are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The supervisor will provide leadership to production associates, monitor workflow, ensure documentation accuracy, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, quality, and safety.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day production and filling operations to ensure adherence to schedules and output targets.
- Train, guide, and evaluate production associates to ensure performance, quality, and safety standards are maintained.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in filling and packaging operations.
- Verify all products are weighed, labeled, and documented according to specifications and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, yields, and deviations.
- Collaborate with Quality Control and Warehouse teams to ensure efficient product flow and accurate order fulfillment.
- Enforce company safety policies and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
- Monitor inventory of materials and report shortages or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime and waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant production environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED (Associate degree or technical training preferred)
- 3 years of experience in production or manufacturing, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to meet production deadlines and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP systems a plus)
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 100 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred:
- Experience in food, pharmaceutical, or laboratory media manufacturing
- Familiarity with GMP and ISO 9001 quality systems
- Knowledge of filling and packaging equipment operation
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday) with optional Saturday hours.
- Rate $20-23/ hr & annual performance bonus.
Benefits package includes health plan benefits, three weeks PTO, ten paid holidays, and retirement plan match of 3% salary.
