Location: 4545 W. Lyndale Ave. Chicago, IL 60639
Alpha Baking Company operates three (3) shifts around the clock 365 days per year. We cannot guarantee that any employee is permanently assigned to a particular shift or that any employee is guaranteed specific or the same days off each week. Additionally, this position requires work of a physical nature in a work environment that it subject to very hot and very cold conditions.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking, reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sanitation Department Staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all production areas in our commercial bakery, in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize all bakery equipment, floors, walls, and ceilings, using approved cleaning agents and methods.
• Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment such as power washers, steamers, and scrubbers.
• Monitor the cleanliness of the bakery areas and report any issues to the production manager.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure that all sanitation tasks are completed within the allocated time frames and meet quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain a clean and organized production environment.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures and participate in ongoing training and development programs.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a union position, and the pay rate will be based on the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off.

Salary Transparency:
$20.43 / Hour
This position is governed by a union collective bargaining agreement. The starting rate of $20.43 per hour represents 90% of the full base rate. After completing 12 months of employment, the pay will increase to the full rate of $22.70 per hour, in accordance with the union agreement.

Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar sanitation role in a food production environment preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with sanitation regulations and best practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work all 3 shifts as needed.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
