- Maintains efficient production by guiding employees; facilitating job rotation; assuring staff is effectively and efficiently deployed. Keeps production flowing in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensures recipes are followed, proper measurements of ingredients are followed, oven and dough temperatures are followed, and temperature and humidity are monitored in the proof box. Convey any recipe changes or bake sheet adjustments to the mixers and appropriate employees.
- Ensures end product meets quality specifications by understanding Natural Ovens products and quality standards; and suggesting process or recipe changes based upon product variations.
- Make sure employees are following company procedures Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Ensures employees take breaks on time. Supervisors keep breaks separate from each other and make sure that a supervisor is on the floor at all times in a timely manner.
- Maintain good communication with employees on the production floor. Conveys problems with equipment to the maintenance department for repairs.
- Effective communication at the start of the shift with the production manager and other supervisors on a daily basis regarding employees, production, and equipment.
- Ensure that employee worker’s compensation injuries are reported in a timely manner and medical restrictions are followed.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by cleaning up as needed and being aware of necessary sanitation and safety procedures.
- Builds a good work environment that makes people feel like a part of the Natural Ovens team. Constructive criticism ensuring the dignity of employee is never compromised.
- Assures adequate staffing is available to work and meet production demands. Make sure that you are available to help with any problems that may occur on the floor.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. This position is also a working position that requires assisting and working with other employees to maintain production flow. Working Foreman will help rotate breaks by taking over a line position.
- In the absence of the Production Supervisor, performs backup and rotation of shifts if necessary.
- Show leadership on production floor by following company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned including mix sponge or soaks as needed. Liquefy bread in a timely manner when needed. Fills into any position when someone calls in.
