Full Job Description
We are seeking a strong, dependable, and experienced BC / Operations Manager to help lead daily operations within a fast-paced package delivery environment. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day route execution, driver accountability, safety compliance, fleet readiness, and overall operational performance.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of managing both people and operations in a high-demand setting. This role requires someone who can lead morning dispatches, support drivers throughout the day, manage operational issues as they arise, and help maintain high standards for safety, service, and performance.
Responsibilities
· Oversee daily dispatch to ensure all routes are staffed, prepared, and launched on time
· Manage driver schedules, route assignments, and daily operational coverage
· Monitor driver performance, attendance, professionalism, and service execution
· Train and onboard new drivers, including ride-alongs and ongoing coaching
· Manage and adjust DRO/FRO plans based on daily volume, staffing, and service needs
· Coordinate rescues, route adjustments, breakdown response, and on-road support
· Track vehicle maintenance needs and assist with Monthly Maintenance Reports
· Enforce company policies, safety standards, and DOT compliance requirements
· Monitor VEDR events, safety performance, package scanning, and coding accuracy
· Maintain onboarding and driver documentation through FedEx-related systems
· Communicate daily expectations clearly to drivers and support a culture of accountability
· Work closely with ownership and terminal personnel to maintain operational flow and resolve issues quickly
Qualifications
· Previous experience in FedEx Ground ISP operations, transportation, logistics, or last-mile delivery preferred
· Leadership or management experience in a fast-paced operational environment preferred
· Ability to lead drivers professionally while maintaining accountability
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure
· Comfortable working early mornings, variable hours, weekends, and peak-season schedules as needed
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Working knowledge of DRO/FRO, driver management, dispatch operations, and safety compliance, we will provide additional training
