Reports To: Fitness & Wellness Director
Alper JCC Miami is seeking a certified and energetic SilverSneakers Instructor to lead fun and engaging fitness classes for older adults. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping seniors improve their physical fitness, flexibility, and overall well-being. If you're a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a certification in SilverSneakers, we’d love to have you join our team!
- Lead SilverSneakers fitness classes for seniors, creating a positive, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere.
- Tailor each class to the needs and abilities of participants, ensuring safe and effective exercises.
- Motivate and encourage participants to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
- Monitor and assess the progress of participants, offering personalized modifications when needed.
- Ensure all safety guidelines are followed during the classes.
- Collaborate with the Fitness & Wellness team to develop programming that supports senior health and wellness.
- Foster a friendly, welcoming environment for all participants. Maintain accurate attendance records and report any incidents or concerns to the Fitness & Wellness Director.
- Current SilverSneakers certification (required).
- Previous experience teaching fitness classes, particularly for older adults, is preferred.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and approachable with a passion for fitness and senior health.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage participants.
- Ability to create a fun, dynamic, and supportive class environment. CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
