Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Assist customers with product demos, answering questions about merchandise and store promotions
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to maximize sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and replenished throughout the shift
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, adhering to store merchandising standards
- Handle cash drawer operations responsibly, including cash register operations and cash reconciliation at shift end
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience preferred; familiarity with retail math and merchandising is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
- Experience with POS systems, cash register operations, and cash handling procedures required
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for team collaboration
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to address inquiries professionally
- Knowledge of retail store product details, stock management, and upselling techniques essential for success in this role
