This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing automated design processes using SolidWorks, DriveWorks, and PDM.
The ideal candidate will combine strong CAD skills with a passion for automation, data management, and efficiency improvements in product development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- SolidWorks Design & Modeling to create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings that meet engineering and manufacturing standards.
- DriveWorks Automation and develop and maintain automation rules, templates, and configurators within DriveWorks to streamline repetitive design tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers and sales teams to build product configurators that enable rapid customization.
- PDM Administration - Manage engineering data and documentation through SolidWorks PDM.
- Provide user support, training, and troubleshooting for PDM-related issues.
- Process Optimization by identifying opportunities to automate workflows and reduce design cycle times.
- Develop best practices, standards, and documentation for CAD and automation processes and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and IT to align design automation with business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (Certified SolidWorks Professional [CSWP] or higher preferred).
- Hands-on experience with DriveWorks (DriveWorks Solo/Pro is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks PDM administration and workflows.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and product lifecycle management (PLM) principles.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP or MRP system integrations.
- Knowledge of VBA, SQL, or other programming/scripting languages for customization.
- Exposure to automation tools beyond DriveWorks (e.g., API development, macros).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support CAD/PDM users.
Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
