Overview:

The Sample Sewer is responsible for creating high-quality garment samples that accurately reflect design specifications. This role works closely with designers, pattern makers, and production teams to ensure samples are constructed efficiently, accurately, and according to brand standards.

Responsibilities:

• Sew complete garment samples from start to finish using industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
• Interpret and follow technical packs (tech packs), patterns, and design specifications.
• Select appropriate threads, needles, and sewing techniques for different fabrics and garment types.
• Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to resolve construction challenges and recommend improvements.
• Ensure samples meet fit, quality, and construction standards before review.
• Maintain sewing equipment and report repair needs.
• Assist in revising samples based on feedback from fittings and design reviews.
• Keep accurate records of sample production and timelines.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sample Sewer or industrial sewing professional, preferably in fashion or apparel manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and industrial sewing machines (e.g., overlock, coverstitch, straight stitch).
• Ability to read patterns and technical specifications with high attention to detail.
• Skilled in problem-solving and adapting sewing techniques for new or complex designs.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  
  

The pay range for this position is $25-28/hour which represents the current range for the pay for this non-exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
