Part-Time Child Care Assistant (Afternoon Closing Position)
Almost Home Infant Care & Preschool is an award-winning preschool and child care center in Findlay, Ohio. We are seeking a dependable, caring individual to join our team as a part-time Child Care Assistant for our afternoon closing shift.
This position is a wonderful opportunity for college students pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field. It provides valuable hands-on experience working with young children in a high-quality early learning environment while developing skills that will benefit a future career working with children.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. (approximately 15 hours per week)
Starting wage: $13–$14 per hour
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the care and supervision of infants, toddlers, and preschool children
- Supporting teachers during afternoon routines and parent pick-up time
- Assisting with snack service
- Diaper changing and assisting with children's daily care needs
- Engaging children in indoor and outdoor play activities
- Building positive relationships with children and families
- Communicating professionally and warmly with parents during pick-up
- Completing classroom preparation and closing responsibilities, including:
- Vacuuming floors
- Leaving classrooms clean, organized, and ready for the next day
- Taking out trash
- Assisting with closing procedures and securing the building
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable, responsible, and enthusiastic about working with children
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
