Duties
- Safely operate a mini bus, following all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist children boarding, buckling, and exiting the vehicle
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and emergency equipment
- Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with appropriate driving techniques and emergency stop procedures
- Follow child care policies to maintain a respectful and disciplined environment onboard
- Complete accurate logs of trips, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with company policies
Requirements
- Valid Ohio driver license
- Experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or transit operations
- Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation
- Certification in first aid and CPR preferred, but we can provide trainings. Ability to respond effectively during emergencies
- Experience working with children is highly desirable; familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus
- Demonstrated defensive driving skills and the ability to quickly respond to traffic changes or hazards
- Knowledge of policies related to student discipline and childcare
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
