Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records, verifying inventory, and ensuring materials are handled efficiently throughout the shipping and receiving process. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and shipping documentation.
- Review packing slips, invoices, bills of lading, and other shipping records.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in company systems.
- Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipment schedules and deliveries.
- Track shipments and assist in resolving discrepancies, delays, or delivery issues.
- Organize and store received inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and stock management activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow company procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and data entry abilities.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to operational needs.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- Day shift
- Overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs.
