Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise with proper heavy lifting techniques to prevent damage or injury
- Communicate clearly with clients upon delivery, addressing questions and building positive relationships
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, route logs, and compliance records
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and coordinate maintenance needs to ensure safety and reliability
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving is preferred
- Strong knowledge of route driving, automobile transportation, and safe lifting practices
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
- Prior retail store experience or merchandising background is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, customer service principles, and organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries effectively
