Position Summary:
The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service during
private events, weddings, tournaments, corporate functions, and member gatherings at the
Golf & Country Club. This role ensures a high-quality guest experience by preparing and
serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently, accurately, and in accordance
with club standards and local regulations.
The Banquet Bartender works closely with the Events & Catering Manager, Banquet
Captain, Event Coordinators, and Food & Beverage team to execute events seamlessly
while maintaining a polished, professional presence that reflects the club’s commitment to
excellence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Delivered elevated, personalized beverage service to members and guests during
private events, weddings, and club functions
- Prepared and served cocktails, fine wines, craft and draft beers according to event
specifications and standardized recipes
- Set up and broke down portable and satellite bars for banquets and off-site club
events
- Maintained exceptional cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards in
accordance with private club expectations

- Monitored alcohol consumption and strictly adhered to state liquor laws and
responsible beverage service guidelines
- Verified guest identification to ensure compliance with age requirements
- Collaborated closely with banquet managers, servers, and culinary staff to ensure
seamless service flow
- Managed bar inventory, restocked supplies, and recorded consumption accurately
- Operated POS and manual billing systems with precision
- Handled high-volume service while maintaining composure, professionalism, and
attention to detail
- Proactively addressed guest concerns and ensured a safe, welcoming environment
at all times
- Upheld the club’s standards of discretion, hospitality, and member-first service
To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred.
- Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- 1 year experience as a Bartender or Barback.
- Must have good understanding of the English language.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Compute basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Skills:
- 2–3 years of banquet, event, restaurant, hotel, or country club leadership
experience required.
- Strong understanding of fine-dining service, banquet operations, and event
logistics.
- Excellent communication.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and calm under pressure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 40% of shift. Sits at desk or in
meetings approximately 60% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects
weighing up to 40 lbs. over short distances. Must be able to work under pressure. Must be
flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours.
IMPACT OF DECISION: Decisions directly impact profitability of the Banquets
Department Poor decisions may result in customer dissatisfaction and loss of revenues,
due to lack of follow-up, ineffective management of staff, lack of customer knowledge,
unsafe work practices, or improperly handled customer service situations.
GENERAL: Must comply with the Company’s Appearance and Dress Code policy as set
forth in the Employee Handbook.
JOB CLASSIFICATION: The position is classified as Part-Time and, upon completion of
the Introductory Period, the employee is eligible for the Employee Benefits outlined in the
Employee Handbook. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Company reserves the right to
amend, change or discontinue the policies, practices and benefits described in the
handbook at any time and without notice.
NON-EXEMPT POSITION: Non- exempt employees are subject to the wage and hour
laws and entitled to overtime pay. All overtime work by a non-exempt employee must be
approved in advance by the employee’s Supervisor of the General Manager and the time
initiated by him/her on the time card. Non-exempt employees who work overtime without
prior approval are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.
AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT: The relationship between Almaden Golf Club and the
employee is for an unspecified term and is considered “at will.” This means that the terms
and conditions of employment maybe changed, with or without cause and with or without
notice, including, but not limited to termination, demotion, promotion, transfer,
compensation, benefits, duties and location of work. No one other than the Owner of the
Company has the authority to make any verbal or written agreement contrary to this
provision and any such agreement must be put in writing and signed by the Owner before it
is effective.
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
