Job Title: Quality Receiving Inspector

Location: Simi Valley, CA 93063
Shift: 1st Shift — Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Position Summary

The Quality Receiving Inspector performs receiving and in-process inspection of precision parts, materials, and assemblies to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, and established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect precision machined parts for dimensional accuracy: size, finish, angles, and plating thickness using precision measurement tools.
• Verify correct materials and certifications (e.g., heat treat, plating, brazing, painting).
• Inspect raw materials, in-process and final parts, and supplier-provided components.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and operational checks, including basic material tests.
• Conduct surface plate work and layouts requiring standard mathematical calculations.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
• Support fellow inspectors and perform related tasks as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of inspection processes and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, comparators, height gages, etc.).
• Understanding of machining processes and shop math.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong accuracy, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Professional conduct and customer service mindset.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years aerospace quality inspection experience OR equivalent combination of training, shop math skills, and mechanical inspection experience.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.00 - $28.50 per hour
