The Assistant Superintendent for Operations is an individual holding a valid AR educator license with district level administrative experience with appropriate licensure for the position, and who has the capacity to fulfill the following essential duties and responsibilities (not limited to other duties as assigned):
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Teamwork and collaboration are key components of this position. This includes all aspects of supervision, administration, finances, and management of the following:
- Provide leadership and supervision for Transportation, Maintenance, Food Service, and other operational departments.
- Oversee department budgets, staffing, compliance, and daily operations.
- Supervise directors and classified personnel; support hiring, evaluation, and performance management.
- Ensure completion of all state-required inspections, safety protocols, and regulatory reporting.
- Manage districtwide school safety, emergency preparedness, and coordination with local agencies.
- Oversee facility maintenance, grounds, energy management systems, and work-order processes.
- Support principals with custodial staffing and building-level operational needs.
- Promote a positive, service-oriented culture across all non-instructional departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, including reassignment or redistribution of responsibilities as district needs evolve
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE
- Valid Arkansas Educator and Administrative License (District-Level Licensure)
- K-12 classroom experience
- District-Level Administration Degree or higher
- Building-level administrator experience required
- Master's Degree or higher in appropriate field
CONTRACT: 240 days and begins July 1. Salary is determined by years of experience, degree, and multiplier as found on the ASD salary schedule.
