Position Title: Teacher/Boys Sr High and Jr High Assistant Basketball Coach
Department: Alma Middle School/Alma High School
Reports To: Principal and Athletic Director
Contract: 210 Days

Alma School District is seeking an assistant basketball coach certified to teach 7-12 Education. This position is a 210 day contract to begin in July. The assistant basketball coach works directly with the guidelines provided by the Arkansas Activities Association.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds or is able to secure an Arkansas teacher license in grades 7-12
- Valid Arkansas coaching certification or endorsement
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth
- Appropriate classroom management skills
- Responsible for different phases of the basketball program 7-12
- Will help develop and assist with the overall basketball program
- Will help develop and assist with the off season basketball program
- Will assist the Senior High Head Coach with the day to day operations of the program
- Demonstrate an active interest in the academic progress of student athletes in an attempt to prevent academic eligibility problems
- CDL encouraged, but not required
- Other duties as assigned
