Position Summary

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a commitment to safety, and a customer-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation: Install HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of HVAC systems.
  • Repair: Diagnose and repair HVAC system issues, including mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant problems. Replace defective components and systems as necessary.
  • Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients to explain system issues, maintenance needs, and repair solutions. Provide professional and courteous service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including work orders, maintenance logs, and parts inventory. Ensure proper documentation of service calls and customer interactions.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Training and Development: Stay current with industry developments, best practices, and new technologies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to achieve departmental and organizational goals. Provide assistance and support to team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or degree in HVAC technology preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HVAC technician or in a related field.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid HVAC technician certification and relevant licenses as required by local, state, or federal regulations. EPA certification preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant components.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC issues efficiently.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Must be able to work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to HVAC work. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
