What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payment Posting Specialist position at ALM Commercial Landscaping?
ALM Commercial Landscaping is searching for a Payment Posting Specialist. This position is responsible for accurately and efficiently posting customer payments across multiple companies within our commercial landscaping platform. This centralized accounting position will ensure payments are applied to the correct customer accounts and invoices and that cash-posting records are accurate and up to date. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position typically working from 7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday and is works on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Post customer payments accurately and timely across multiple companies and locations.
- Apply payments to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices.
- Process payments received by check, ACH, wire, credit card, lockbox, and other payment methods.
- Review payment and remittance information to ensure accurate posting.
- Identify payments that cannot be immediately matched to an invoice or customer account and route them for research/resolution.
- Process customer credits, overpayments, and other payment adjustments as directed.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to payment-posting activity.
- Verify daily posting activity for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with accounting team members regarding missing or unclear payment information.
- Assist with maintaining consistent cash-posting procedures across all companies.
- Perform other cash-posting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 yrs of cash posting, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience is required; Experience processing a high volume of transactions preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting or business education is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of accounts receivable and customer payments.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working with multiple companies, accounts, and systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- NetSuite and/or Aspire experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while meeting daily processing deadlines.
